Roadmap
This is not a promise sheet. NCM is built by one developer and moves fast. Priorities change when live play shows something more important. There are no dates here, because none of these items have committed dates.
Current
- Proving what has shipped. Many recent systems are on the server but still need a full live sign-off: the Race
Week reset, damage and repair, the Workshop, manual gearboxes and Rig Bridge 0.1.9. NCM does not call something
done until it has passed a live test (the public test register is
docs/ncm-online/wp/MASTER_TEST.md). - Stability and performance on the public server.
- Public source and documentation, this site included.
Next
- The first live Race Week reset, then tuning how a run ends.
- Racing polish: more routes back on the calendar as their racing lines are rebuilt; NPC pace and race-craft.
- Engineering: tyre compounds, more parts, an estimator for machine knowledge.
- Trading: persistent listings and escrow for the Exchange.
Exploring
Designed, at least in part, with no commitment to build:
- NCM Talk: walk up to any NPC and talk to them by voice, grounded in what NCM actually knows. A plan exists
(
docs/ncm-online/62_NCM_TALK.md); nothing is built. - City Memory: a city that remembers where people crash and changes its infrastructure. See City Memory.
- Civil engineering: player-built barriers and structures (the reserved F9 BUILD tab).
- NCM 3.0: a single-player release built from what NCM Online has become. On hold. See The NCM Family.
- The experimental branches: flight and everything above the city. See Experimental Systems.
